September 12/14, 2007

Today on Radio Del Arte, guests included Artistic Director Robin Poitras from New Dance Horizons and visiting designer and model Leah Arnott regarding the NDH Aria fashion show fundraiser this Thursday. Check out event photos, Artist Ryan Arnott's dress concepts and the ice cream dresses Robin and Leah wore at the University of Regina Faculty Club-- the opening is this Friday. Also in the studio were Brent Braaten and Allan Dotson from the Real Valuable Comics collective who have work from their recent issue on display at the Saskatchewan Cultural Exchange Society (reception and comic book launch Thursday). Starting off the hour was Felipe "Woody St. Peter" Diaz from the Saskatchewan Filmpool inviting everyone to the upcoming 50-104 film festival taking place this week end.

Carle and Margaret also invite everyone to consider checking out the new paintings by Jana Kutarna and the performance festival kicking off this weekend at Neutral Ground, and the contemporary art exhibit "Casualty" opening 1 pm this Saturday at the Dunlop, with curator/artist talks by Sigrid Dahle, Bernie Miller, and Lorna Brown.

Most memorable moment during the show? It's a toss up...imagining an ice cream dress-- what DOES "one scoop" mean? ...finding out about the Giant Robot Head that may shadow you...figuring out a porn name for our favourite experimental film maker (i voted "cat-lynn valley noodle" for sook yin lee...I wasn't thinking of "Shortbus" but the NFB's 5 femnist minutes, "Escapades of One Particular Mr. Noodle")
